Here’s the timing and flow of the symposium . . . (of course subject to slight change)
Friday, Nov. 3
It’s here! The North Carolina Woodturning Symposium is underway. Register, visit the vendor hall, and sit in on the first of many demonstrations.
8:00-11:00 a.m. — Setup [vendors and demo room sponsors]
11:00 a.m. — Registration — Registration opens for the Symposium. Sorry, don’t arrive early and expect to register.
11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. — Vendor Area and Instant Gallery open to public
1:00-2:30 p.m. — Demonstrations, rotation 1 (see schedule grid below)
3:00-4:30 p.m. — Demonstrations, rotation 2 (see schedule grid below)
Saturday, Nov. 4
The middle day of the Symposium is the most packed and is dizzying in its offerings. Study the agenda and spend your time well!
8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. — Registration open
8:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. — Vendor Area and Instant Gallery open to public
8:30-10:00 a.m. — Demonstrations, rotation 3 (see schedule grid below)
10:30 a.m.-12:00 noon — Demonstrations, rotation 4 (see schedule grid below)
12:00 noon-1:00 p.m. — Lunch buffet [open to all registered attendees]
1:30-3:00 p.m. — Demonstrations, rotation 5 (see schedule grid below)
3:30-5:00 p.m. — Demonstrations, rotation 6 (see schedule grid below)
6:00-8:30 p.m. — Banquet & Auction; gather to visit with other woodturners, auction, and door prizes awarded. [open to ticketed attendees]
Sunday, Nov. 5
The closing day of the Symposium gives you a final opportunity to buy from the vendors and two more packed demonstration periods offering a dozen sessions from which to select.
8:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m. — Registration open
8:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. — Vendor Area and Instant Gallery open to public
8:30-10:00 a.m. — Demonstrations, rotation 7 (see schedule grid below)
10:00-10:30 — Vendor send-off. Final time to buy from vendors; vendor hall closes at 11:00 a.m.
10:30 a.m.-12 noon — Demonstrations, rotation 8 (see schedule grid below)
12:00 noon — The North Carolina Woodturning Symposium is closed for 2023. See you in two years!
